Though I’m changing up my blog this year, it will still have the same recognizable banner across the top.

But the layout will be a little different.  I’ll be using a system based on my Bible study teacher Liz’s encouragement. She encourages us to apply the Word of God in our life by hearing, reading, studying, meditating on, memorizing, loving (living), teaching (sharing), and praying it.

And there will be an added feature. Liz, my Bible study teacher, has been encouraging me and the rest of her students to memorize scripture.  So, I will be sharing verses we can hide in our heart.

I will continue to “craft scripture” into my life.  And I’ll   encourage you to “craft” godly habits into your life as you read the Bible along with me.

This year I will be reading through the New Testament. I’ll be posting for your convenience the actual verses from the King James Version of the Bible. But feel free to read the passages from whatever translation you like.

The changes to my blog are slight, but I believe they will enhance our study of God’s Word.  The Gospel books – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John – will be presented and blended into a chronological account of Christ’s life on earth.   I believe you and I can gain a clearer picture of the life of our Lord and Savior by reading the four gospel books this way.

This year I resolve to catch myself (stop any negative thought) BEFORE I speak it aloud. Whether it concerns a situation about me or others, I want to stop right then and pray for the person and the situation.

Lord, this year, I pray we believers will allow the Holy Spirit to guide us.  I pray we will walk by faith, not by sight.  I pray we will surrender each moment to You.  I pray we will humble ourselves before You.  I ask You to open our eyes to all that is in Your Word. I pray this year, moment by moment, we will bring glory, honor and praise to You. I pray we will make it our goal to please You.  (II Corinthians 5:5-9).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
