Psalm 16 Theme

Oh! Wow! Lord we can enjoy both benefits now and in the future.
Something to think about
When we make plans and then consult God we’re putting the proverbial cart before the horse (verse 7).
Something to experience
But when we constantly seeks what the Lord wants, we will gain valuable insight. We will be able to make right decisions and live the way God desires (verse 11).

Psalm 17 Theme
A plea for justice when false accused and persecuted.

Oh! Wow! Lord, the psalmist resolved that he wouldn’t sin with the words of his mouth (verse 3).
Something to think about
The Psalmist trusted the Lord to hear him when he prayed (verses 6-7).
Something to experience
Don’t think you’ve missed God’s protection if you experience troubles. God’s plan for each situation we face varies. He uses each one for His purposes (verse 8).

Psalm 17:3 You Lord have proved my heart. You have visited me in the night. You have tried me, and found nothing.
Psalm 17:6-7 I have called on You, for You will answer me, God. Turn Your ear to me. Hear my speech. Show Your marvelous loving kindness, You who save those who take refuge by Your right hand from their enemies.
Psalm 17:8Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 18 Theme
Call upon God for help and strength when surrounded by evil (verse 1).

Oh! Wow! Lord, You are our rock, our fortress, our deliverer, our shield, our horn of salvation and our high tower (verse 2).
Something to think about
The Psalmist said God reached down and rescued him from his enemies. He said his enemies confronted him but the Lord was his support. The Lord delivered the Psalmist because He (God) delighted in him (verses 6-7, 16-19).
Something to experience
The Lord will reward us according to our righteousness; according to the cleanness of our hands (verses 20-21). He will be a shield to those of us who take refuge in Him (verse 30).

Psalm 18:1 I love You, Lord, my strength.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called on the Lord, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of His temple. My cry before Him came into His ears.
Psalm 18:7 Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations also of the mountains quaked and were shaken, because He was angry.
Psalm 18:16 He sent from on high. He took me. He drew me out of many waters.
Psalm 18:17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me.
Psalm 18:19 He brought me out also into a large place. He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
Psalm 18:20-21 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands, He has recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of God, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
Psalm 18:30 As for God, His way is perfect; the Lord’s word is tried. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in Him.

Greatness is revealed both in God’s creation and His Word (verse 1).

Oh! Wow! Lord, everything of Yours is great.
Something to think about
God’s law is perfect. God’s covenant is sure (verse 7). God’s precepts are right. God’s commandment is pure (verse 8). God’s ordinances are true (verse 9).
Something to experience
God’s law can restore our soul. God’s covenant can make us wise (verse 7). God’s precepts can rejoice our heart. God’s commandment can enlighten our eyes (verse 8). God’s ordinances are altogether righteous (verse 9). May the words we speak and the thoughts we have all be acceptable in God’s sight (verse 14).

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows His handiwork.
Psalm 19:7 The Lord’s law is perfect, restoring the soul. The Lord’s covenant is sure, making wise the simple.
Psalm 19:8 The Lord’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. The Lord’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psalm 19:9 The fear of the Lord’s is pure, enduring forever. The Lord’s ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, God, my rock, and my redeemer.

Oh! Wow! Lord, prayer can help us prepare for any challenge.
Something to think about
The Psalmist knew that trust should be placed in the Lord more than in human power.
Something to experience
Because only God can preserve a nation or an individual we need to be sure our confidence is in God, who gives eternal victory.
