In Job 28:28 God said to man “The fear of the Lord – that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, the starting point for finding real wisdom is to fear You (see Proverbs 1:7-9).
Something to think about
“The fear of the Lord” means to have respect and reverence for God. And to be in awe of His majesty and His power.
Something to experience
If we want to acquire God’s wisdom we need to begin by respecting, reverencing, and standing in awe of His majesty and His power.

In Job 29:7-17 Job spoke of his past accomplishments and good deeds.
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, Job came mighty close to being prideful.
Something to think about
Pride can separate us from God by making us believe we are better than we really are. When we believe we are better than we truly are, we might have a tendency to trust our own opinions and be led into other kinds of sin.
Something to experience
Rather than recount what we’ve done, the best and right thing would be to recount what God has done. Recognize all the blessings He has bestowed on us.

In Job 30 Job recounted the abuse he felt at the hands of those younger than him.
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, no one even respected the fact Job was suffering bravely after having lost his children, his servants, his livestock and his health.
Something to think about
Young people sometimes make fun of and take advantage of older people.
Something to experience
If you are young realize that if you live a long time you too will become old.

In Job 31:24-28 Job explained that trusting in wealth for happiness was idolatry and actually denied God.
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, some of society value the power and the prestige that money brings.
Something to think about
Some of society has an obsession with money and possessions.
Something to experience
As true believers we need to purge ourselves of the desire for more power, more prestige and more possessions.
