In I Kings 15 Asa became king of Judah.
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, Asa did what was right in Your eyes, just as his father David had done (verse 11).
Something to think about
Though Asa didn’t remove the high places, his heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life according to verse 14. Asa probably learned from the past, from the experiences and lives of others. He didn’t want to repeat their mistakes.
Something to experience
Are there people in your past that have influenced your life? Today remind yourself of those who have been positive influences. Recall what they’ve done for you. And then find someone you can positively influence.

In I Kings 17 Elijah, a prophet, told Ahab, the king of Israel, there would be no rain for a few years (verse 1). Ahab was a Baal-worshipping king. In verse 2 Elijah was told by the Lord where to go and what to do to get food for himself.
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, Ahab must have been surprised at what Elijah said.
Something to think about
Ahab might have had a strong military but it would be of no help against a drought.
Something to experience
With rebellion and pagan worship in the land, God responded with a physical drought. The people were in a spiritual drought already.

In I Kings 7-16 Elijah was sent by God to a widow who would supply Elijah with food. When he met her she said she only had enough ingredients for one last meal.
Response
Oh! Wow! Lord, the widow trusted you to provide bread for many days from just a handful of flour and a little oil.
Something to think about
The Lord told Elijah and Elijah told the widow the little bit of flour and oil would not be used up until the day the Lord gave rain on the land. So Elijah, the widow and her son all had food and for a number of days.
Something to experience
God can help us too. God can provide for us in ways that go beyond our own expectations. No matter how bad our trials are or how hopeless our situation seems, we should look to God for help. Every miracle begins with an act of obedience. We may not see the solution until we take the first step of faith. Keep your eyes and heart open to God. He will come through for you.

In I Kings 17:17-24 Some time later the widow’s son became ill. He grew worse and worse and finally stopped breathing.
Something to think about
The widow sought Elijah out. Elijah prayed and the boy’s life returned to him and he lived.
Something to experience
Even when God has done a miracle in our life, life goes on. And there will be other trials, as there was in this story. We need to depend on God as we face each new trial.
