Theme Ezekiel 46

Worship.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord, our spiritual lives are enhanced by the order in our worship services.

Something to think about

God had a specific way for the Israelites to worship.  This helped the spiritual life of the Israelites. And it can help us today.

Something to experience

Though we no longer offer animal and grain sacrifices, we should offer ourselves as living sacrifices to the Lord as we worship Him (Romans 12:1; I Peter 2:5).

Scripture to hide in your heart

Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

1 Peter 2:5 You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

The River.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord, Ezekiel saw a river flowing from the entrance of the temple (v. 1-2).

Something to think about

Per my Bible notes the river symbolizes life from God and the blessings that flow from His throne (v. 3-5).  This river will freshen the Dead Sea’s water so it can support life (v. 6-10).

Something to experience

God’s life-giving water can transform us even if others think we’re hopeless.  Though we may feel we’re beyond God’s help, He is able to heal us in body, mind and spirit (v. 12).

Scripture to hide in your heart

Ezekiel 47:1-2 1 He brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, waters flowed out from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the front of the house faced toward the east. The waters came down from underneath, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar. 2Then he brought me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me around by the way outside to the outer gate, by the way of the gate that looks toward the east. Behold, waters ran out on the right side.

Ezekiel 47:3-5 When the man went out eastward with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the ankles. Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the knees. Again, he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through waters that were to the waist. Afterward he measured one thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the waters had risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be walked through.

Ezekiel 47:6-10 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen?”  Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river. Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. Then he said to me, “These waters flow out toward the eastern region, and will go down into the Arabah. Then they will go toward the sea; and flow into the sea which will be made to flow out; and the waters will be healed. It will happen, that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. Then there will be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters have come there, and the waters of the sea will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river comes. 10 It will happen, that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.

Ezekiel 47:12 “By the river on its bank, on this side and on that side, will grow every tree for food, whose leaf won’t wither, neither will its fruit fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its waters issue out of the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.”

Dividing the land.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord, You gave land to Your people.

Something to think about

God’s kingdom is a place for all who believe in and obey Him.

Something to experience

We Christians have been promised a place (John 14:1-6).

Scripture to hide in your heart

John 14:1-6 1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to Myself; that where I am, you may be there also. You know where I go, and you know the way.”  Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we don’t know where You are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me.”

Prayer

Lord, I pray, if we haven’t already, we will offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy, and acceptable to You for that is our spiritual service (Romans 12:1; I Peter 2:5).  Lord, I pray Your life-giving water will transform us and heal our body, mind and spirit (Ezekiel 47:12). Thank You Lord for preparing a place for each of Your children (John 14:1-6).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

“May you and I thank the Lord for the mansions He’s preparing for us.” <>< Dona
