Theme Ezekiel 43

The Return.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You will return to live forever among Your people (v. 5-7a).

Something to think about

When the Lord returns the House of Israel will never again defile His holy name (v. 7b).  God is holy, so we are to be holy (I Peter 1:15-16).

Something to experience

We believers should look forward that time when God will be glorified and will live among us forever. We are holy when we devote ourselves to God and turn away from sin.  God is waiting for each of us to come to Him in faith and ask for forgiveness.

Scripture to hide in your heart

Ezekiel 43:5-7 The Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the Lord’s glory filled the house.  I heard one speaking to me out of the house; and a man stood by me. He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne, and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the children of Israel forever. The house of Israel will no more defile My holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution, and by the dead bodies of their kings in their high places”;

Theme Ezekiel 44

Prince, Levites, and Priests.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord, You were the only one who could enter the east facing outer gate of the sanctuary (v. 1-2).

Something to think about

Why couldn’t anyone else enter through that gate? Perhaps nobody else could walk where God had walked. Perhaps God was saying He would never again leave the temple. Perhaps it was to prevent the Israelites from seeing and worshipping the sun that came up in the east.

Something to experience

Has God shut any doors in Your life so that you can keep your focus on Him?

Scripture to hide in your heart

Ezekiel 44:1-2 1 Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looks toward the east; and it was shut. 2 The Lord said to me, “This gate shall be shut. It shall not be opened, no man shall enter in by it; for the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered in by it. Therefore, it shall be shut.”

Theme Ezekiel 45

The temple.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord, You were to be presented with a portion of the land for a sacred district (v. 1).

Something to think about

The land allotted to the temple was in the center of the nation (v. 7). The princes and the people were told by God to be just and right in their business transactions (v. 8-12).

F.Y.I. The Passover was an annual seven-day feast called by God to remind the people of when He brought them out of slavery in Egypt (v. 21).

Something to experience

God too is to be central to our life. He must be first in our life. God is trustworthy and those of us who are His followers should be too.

Scripture to hide in your heart

Ezekiel 45:1 “Moreover, when you divide by lot the land for inheritance, you shall offer an offering to the Lord, a holy portion of the land. The length shall be the length of twenty-five thousand reeds, and the width shall be ten thousand. It shall be holy in all its border all around.”

Ezekiel 45:7 “What is for the prince shall be on the one side and on the other side of the holy offering and of the possession of the city, in front of the holy offering and in front of the possession of the city, on the west side westward, and on the east side eastward; and in length answerable to one of the portions, from the west border to the east border.”

Ezekiel 45:8-12 8 “In the land it shall be to him for a possession in Israel. My princes shall no more oppress My people; but they shall give the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.”  “‘The Sovereign Lord says: “Let it suffice you, princes of Israel: remove violence and plunder, and execute justice and righteousness; dispossessing My people,” says the Sovereign Lord. 10 “You shall have just balances, a just ephah, and a just bath. 11 The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain one tenth of a homer, and the ephah one tenth of a homer. Its measure shall be the same as the homer. 12 The shekel shall be twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels shall be your mina.”

Ezekiel 45:21 “In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the Passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.”

Prayer

Lord, I pray we will look to the time You will be glorified and live with us forever (Ezekiel 43).  Lord, I ask You to shine Your light upon anything in our lives that displease or dishonor You (Ezekiel 44).  Lord, I pray we will put You in the center of our life (Ezekiel 45).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
