Oh! Wow! MAKE TIME TO PRAY (11/21/20)
(“If you’re not able to see this entire post just click on the title above.”)
Just recently I shared two statements in my Zoom Bible study group. They were:
“I don’t pray to change God’s mind, I pray for God to change mine.”
“When I pray God’s Word, I’m not reminding God of what He’s said, I’m reminding myself.”
These two statements explain why I believe praying God’s Word is so vital to me. 1. God already has a plan. He’s just waiting for me to get onboard. 2. Why would I want to pray my possibly flawed plan when God’s Word already has the perfect plan. His plan includes the instructions for Godly living.
Today I’ve decided to encourage you to pray God’s Word if you don’t already. I, myself, have done this for many years.
These verses are reference in Ezekiel chapters 16 through 30. The chapters I read and posted this week.
Just read the selections below and take what you believe God’s Word is saying and talk to the Lord either aloud or in written form about their application in your life.
Psalm 96:10-13 World English Bible (WEB) 10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.” The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He (the Lord) will judge the peoples with equity. 11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness! 12 Let the field and all that is in it exult! Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy 13 before the Lord; for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, the nations with His truth.
My prayer: Thank You Lord for being our king and reigning over our nation. Thank You for judging us fairly. I pray we will be glad and rejoice because You are our God. Thank You for revealing the truth to us through Your Word.
Psalm 18:20-24 World English Bible (WEB) 20 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands, He has recompensed me. 21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. 22 For all His ordinances were before me. I didn’t put away His statutes from me. 23 I was also blameless with Him. I kept myself from my iniquity. 24 Therefore the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyesight.
My prayer: Lord, thank You for rewarding us according to how we live. Lord, I pray we will keep Your ways and not depart from Your Presence. Lord, I pray we will live a pure life and stay far from evil. For then Your Word says You will reward us according to our behavior.
Psalm 78:32-39 World English Bible (WEB) 32 For all this they still sinned, and didn’t believe in His (the Lord’s) wondrous works. 33 Therefore He consumed their days in vanity, and their years in terror. 34 When He killed them, then they inquired after Him. They returned and sought God earnestly. 35 They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer. 36 But they flattered Him with their mouth, and lied to Him with their tongue. 37 For their heart was not right with Him, neither were they faithful in His covenant. 38 But He, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times He turned His anger away, and didn’t stir up all His wrath. 39 He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes away, and doesn’t come again.
My prayer: Lord, I pray we will obey You and recognize all the wondrous works You do in our world. I pray we will earnestly seek You. Thank You for being our Rock, the Most High God, and our Redeemer. Lord, I pray we will speak the truth. I pray our heart will be right with You. I pray we will faithfully follow Your Word. Thank You for showing us mercy. Thank You for being long suffering by giving us time to turn from sin and turn to You. Thank You for forgiving us of our sins when we repent.
(F.Y.I. Prayer is a conversation with God, so be aware that God can speak to you in many ways: aloud, in your heart, through His Word, through other people, etc.)
Remember what Jesus says in John 10:10 “The thief (satan) comes to steal, kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they (you and me) may have life, and have it to the full.”
