Pray to live a righteous life

Proverbs 10:7 The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.

Proverbs 12:3 A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

Proverbs 28:12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.

Pray to hate what is false

Proverbs 13:5 A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.

Pray to commit all work to the Lord

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed.

Pray to use words with restraint and be even-tempered

Proverbs 17:27-28 27 He who spares his words has knowledge.  He who is even tempered is a man of understanding. 28 Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise.  When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.

Pray to have loving wisdom and understanding

Proverbs 19:8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul.  He who keeps understanding shall find good.

Pray to be humble and fear the Lord

Proverbs 22:4 The result of humility and the fear of the Lord is wealth, honor, and life.

Pray to be willing to confess and renounce sin

Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Pray to stay far from wickedness

Proverbs 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one’s own honor.

Pray to not praise self

Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

Pray to not conceal sin

Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
