“Meet King Josiah.” <>< Dona (05/31/20)

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord, though his father and grandfather were exceptionally wicked, Josiah’s life was an example of God’s willingness to provide continual guidance to those who choose to be obedient.

Something to think about

Josiah understood that there was spiritual sickness in his land.  And he began to destroy and clean up whatever he found that didn’t belong in the worship of the One true God.  During this time God’s Word was rediscovered.  The king’s desires and the power of God’s written revelation were brought together.

Something to experience

Are you and me like Josiah?  Are we deeply humbled by God’s Word?  Or do we see a big gap between our life and the kind of life God expects us to live?  May we realize our deep need to be cleansed and renewed by God.  May we allow God’s Word to truly humble us and change our life.

Prayer

Lord, I pray we will turn to You and submit our life to You.  I pray we will love You with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our strength just as Josiah did (II Kings 23:25). In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

“May you and I truly love the Lord.” <>< Dona
