In Deuteronomy 7:9, 16-18 Moses explained to the Israelites that their God was faithful and kept His covenant of love to those who loved Him and kept His commands.  Moses also explained to them why God wanted certain nations destroyed.

RESPONSE

“Oh! Wow!”the wicked nations were destroyed because You Lord said they would be a snare to the Israelites (verse 16). These nations worshipped idols.

Something to think about

We may have thoughts or behavior in our life that are unacceptable to God.

Something to experience

God can deliver us from physical, mental, emotional or spiritual difficulties instantaneously but sometimes He chooses to help us gradually, little by little (verse 22).

PRAYER

Lord I ask You to love us and bless us (Deuteronomy 7:13). I ask You to  show us what thoughts and behavior in our life need to be removed or changed (Deuteronomy 7:22-23).  I pray we will not bring anything into our life or into our home that is detestable to You (Deuteronomy 7:25-26). In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

In Deuteronomy 8:2 Moses explained to the Israelites that God led them for forty years in the wilderness to humble them and test them in order to know what was in their heart and whether or not they would keep His commands.

RESPONSE

“Oh! Wow!” You Lord provided everything the Israelites needed physically.

Something to think about

God not only provided the Israelites with food, but their clothes didn’t wear out and their feet didn’t swell during their forty years in the wilderness (verse 3-4).

Something to experience

Growing up I was one of 11 children.  We were not wealth, not even middle class.  My Dad didn’t have a high paying job yet I never went without food.  I never went without clothes.  I never went without shelter. How about you? What has God done in your life to take care of you physically?

PRAYER

Lord You are all we need and You provide everything we need (Psalm 16:5).  Thank You Lord for giving us life and breath (Acts 17:25). Lord thank You for every favor and earthly blessing that come to us.  I pray we will indeed be completely sufficient in You and be able to even share with others what You’ve given us (II Corinthians 9:8).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

In Deuteronomy 9 Moses reminded the Israelites it was not because of their righteousness or their integrity that they were able to go in and take possession of the Promised Land.  No, it was because of the wickedness of other nations that the Lord drove them (the other nations) out of the land and gave the land to the Israelites.

RESPONSE

“Oh! Wow!” Lord in spite of the behavior of the Israelites (verse 6) You still gave them the land You promised.

Something to think about

Moses continued to remind the Israelites of all the times they provoked the Lord by their unbelief.

Something to experience

When you feel disconnected from God, it may be because you’re looking everywhere but to Him for your help and guidance (verse 23).

PRAYER

Lord I pray we will trust in and rely on You.  I pray we will stay focused on You, the living God. I pray we will continually encourage one another.  Thank You for bringing us into Your family and making us partakers of Christ Jesus, sharing in all You have for us.  I pray we will hold firm to the end our faith and our belief which led us to Your Son, Christ Jesus.  I pray we will hear Your voice and keep our heart open and pure (Hebrews 3:12-15).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

“I pray you will hear God’s voice and keep your heart open and pure today. <>< Dona
