In Deuteronomy 4 Moses reminded the Israelites to follow the decrees and laws so that they would live and go in and take possession of the land that the Lord had given them.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You drew near to the Israelites (verse 7).

Something to think about

We as Christians can experience that same nearest to God.

Something to experience

We too can pray and experience God’s Presence.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will seek You for then Your Word says we will find You if we look for You with all our heart and with all our soul.  I pray when distress comes we will draw near to You and obey You (Deuteronomy 4:29-30).  Thank You Lord for being a merciful God (Deuteronomy 4:31).  Lord I pray we will draw near to You and You will draw near to us (James 4:8).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

In Deuteronomy 5 Moses reminded the Israelites of God’s Ten Commandments.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You were face to face with Moses when You gave him the Ten Commandments.

Something to think about

The Israelites were fearful of hearing God’s voice.

Something to experience

We Christians should seek to hear God’s voice.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will be careful to do what You command us to do.  I pray we will not turn aside to the right or to the left.  I pray we will walk in all the ways that You have commanded us, so that we may live and prosper and prolong our days in the land that we possess (Deuteronomy 5:32-33).

In Deuteronomy 6 Moses reminded the Israelites of God’s commands, decrees, and laws.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You desired for the Israelites to fear You, obey You and therefore enjoy long lives.   You desired them to obey You so that it would go well with them and that they would increase greatly in the land that You promised them.

Something to think about

Isn’t this what Jesus wants for us too?  To be prosperous spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically as we follow Him.

Something to experience

When Jesus came He reduced all the decrees, laws and commandments to two.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will love You with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength and with all our mind.  And I pray we will love our neighbor as ourselves (Luke 10:27).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
