In Numbers 28 the Lord instructed Moses concerning offerings.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You said (in verse 2) the Israelites’ offerings were “an aroma pleasing to” You.

Something to think about

If the Israelites’ offerings pleased God, the offering of our life must really please Him.

Something to experience

Consider offering yourself to God each day.

Prayer

Lord I pray each day we will dedicate ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to You.  For this is an act of worship (Romans 12:1).  Lord I pray we will do good to those around us for such sacrifices are pleasing to You (Hebrews 13:13-16). Lord I pray we believers will offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable and pleasing to You through Christ Jesus, our Savior (I Peter 2:5).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

In Numbers 29:1-6 the Lord speaks of the Feast of Trumpets and the offerings.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You provided these holidays for the Israelites as a time to refresh the mind and body and to renew their commitment to You.

Something to think about

When we are tired and feel far from God we can seek a time of refreshing and renewal too.

Something to experience

We can separate ourselves from our daily routine and concentrate on renewing our commitment to God.  Have a worship service at home.  If you have a hymnal read or sing the lyrics aloud.  Or play a Christian CD.

Prayer

When we are tired and feel far from You Lord I ask You to renew, refresh and restore us.  I ask You to lead us in the paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3; Psalm 119:49, 88). Lord I ask You to create in us a clean heart (Psalm 51:10).  Lord I ask You to renew and strengthen us according to the promises in Your Word (Psalm 119:28).  Lord help us to turn our eyes from worldly, meaningless things that distract us.  And restore us with renewed energy in Your ways (Psalm 119:37).  Lord revive us, give us life according to Your Word (Psalm 119:107).  Lord I pray we will take Your yoke and learn from You.  I pray we will find rest for our souls (Matthew 11:29). I pray we will not conform to this world but will be transformed and progressively changed by the renewing of our mind so that we may prove for ourselves what Your will is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2). Lord though our body is progressively wasting away, our inner self is being progressively renewed day by day (II Corinthians 4:16).  Lord I pray we will be continually renewed in the spirit of our mind, having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude (Ephesians 4:23). In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
