Numbers 5:1-4.  God instructs Moses on how to keep impurity from spreading through the camp.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord isolation for possible contagious illnesses was Your idea.

Something to think about

Even today we set people apart for physical health issues when they may be contagious.  Mental health issues sometimes need this same separation.  And so do spiritual health issues.

Something to experience

When we have any health issue, whether physical, mental or spiritual we can take time to come away from human contact and wait on God’s direction and help.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will understand how being separated from others gives us time to be with You privately. Even Your Son, Christ Jesus, took time to be alone with You (Matthew 26:36; Mark 6:31-32). In His name I pray.  AMEN.

Numbers 6:22-27 God instructed Moses in how Aaron and his sons, the priests, were to bless the Israelites.

Something to think about

We too are priests.

Something to experience

We too can speak the priestly blessing to our loved ones.

The Priestly Blessing

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace” (verse 24-26).

Prayer

Lord I ask You to favor and protect us (Psalm 97:11).  I pray we will please You in all we think, say and do (Psalm 143:10; Colossians 1:10).   I pray you will be merciful and compassionate to us (Nehemiah 9:17).  I ask You to give us Your approval (Psalm 80:3).  I pray we will experience Your peace (Romans 15:13).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Numbers 7:89 When Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with Yahweh (God), he (Moses)  heard His (God’s) voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; and He (God) spoke to him (Moses).

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord it is so amazing to me that just as Moses heard Your voice so can we.

Something to think about

Imagine hearing the very voice of God!  Moses must have trembled at the sound.  Yet we have God’s words recorded for us in the Bible, and we should have no less reverence and awe for the written Word. These conversations in the Bible give us insights into God’s character. How tragic when we take these very words from God lightly.

Something to experience

We have the privilege of talking to God.  Though God can speak to us audibly, His written Word should also speak to us.  And we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. To receive God’s guidance we need to seek to know God as Moses did.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will call upon You.  I pray, O God, You will answer us.  I pray we will incline our ear to You and hear what You speak to us (Psalm 17:6). Lord I pray when we cry out to You for help You will hear us (Psalm 18:6). Lord I pray we will hear You speak peace to us, Your people, Your godly ones (Psalm 85:8). Lord I pray we will seek Your Will and shine forth.  I pray we will hear and heed Your Son, Christ Jesus’ Words (Matthew 13:43).  If there is anyone reading this that hasn’t already heard and accepted the good news regarding the way of salvation, I pray today they will do so.  And I pray they will then go forth and share their new way of life with others (Mark 4:20).   Lord I pray for those who aren’t reading this too.  I pray they will look around at Your creation and come to the conclusion that the Only True God, You, are real (Romans 10:18).  I pray that they along with us will have our eyes flooded with light from the Holy Spirit so that we all will know and cherish the hope to which we have been called, the riches of Your glorious inheritance (Ephesians 1:18).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
