Leviticus 26 God reminded the Israelites of the rewards of obedience and He warned the Israelites of the consequences of disobedience.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord Your faithfulness is overwhelming to me.

Something to think about

God took the Israelites out of slavery and gave them freedom and dignity.  We too are set free when we accept Christ’s payment that redeems us from sin’s slavery.

Something to experience

We no longer need to be held back by shame over our past sins, we can walk in freedom and dignity because God has forgiven us.  But just as the Israelites we need to beware of the temptation to return to our former sinful conduct.

Prayer

Lord, if there is anyone reading this that has never repented, that is never regretted their past sins and never turned away from them, I pray they will do so today (Matthew 4:17).  Lord I pray we will all live our life in a way that proves we have repented of our sins.   I pray we will seek Your purpose for our life.  I pray we will believe with a deep, abiding trust in the good news regarding salvation (Mark 1:15).  Lord I pray that our sins will be wiped away, blotted out, completely erased so that times of refreshing may come from Your Presence in our life (Acts 3:19).  Lord I pray we will purpose to walk habitually in newness of life, abandoning our old ways (Romans 6:4). Lord I pray Your principle of life, the essence of Your righteous character, will remain permanently in us who are born again (I John 3:9). Lord thank You for bringing us out of our old sinful life into a born again new life (II Corinthians 5:17).  Lord I pray we will be spiritually transformed, renewed and sanctified so we will indeed see and experience Your kingdom (John 3:3). In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 27 The Lord speaks to Moses about making vows, giving tithes and dedicating persons, land, houses and animals.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You take our vows (promises) seriously.

Something to think about

God expects us to fulfill our vows even if it is difficult to do so.  Don’t make a vow (a promise) unless you are going to keep it.

Something to experience

God wants us to be cheerful givers.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will give thoughtfully and with purpose.  I pray we will not give begrudgingly or under compulsion for You love a cheerful giver and You delight in those whose heart is in their gift (II Corinthians 9:7).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
