Leviticus 21:1-22:15 God spoke to Moses about rules for the priests.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You are holy.

Something to think about

From my Bible’s notes: Some priests were not allowed to offer the sacrifices.  They could do other duties but not the sacrificing if they had defects. This might sound unkind, but God wasn’t insulting anyone.  The priest had to match as closely as possible the perfect God they served.  Such perfection was not fully realized until Christ Jesus came.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will be holy because You are holy (Leviticus 22:32).  Lord I pray we will present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to You.  For that is our rational, logical, intelligent act of worship (Romans 12:1).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 22:17-32 God spoke to Moses about the unacceptable sacrifices.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord Your Son Christ Jesus is holy too.

Something to think about

From my Bible’s notes: Even the animals had to be without blemish in order to foreshadow the perfect, sinless life of Christ Jesus.

Something to experience

When we give to God our time, talents and treasures we too should be giving our best.

Prayer

Lord thank You for Your Son, Christ Jesus who revealed to us Your plan for salvation and how to live a righteous life. Christ Jesus made us acceptable to You, sanctified, made holy and set apart for You.  He redeemed us and provided the ransom to save us from the penalty of sin (I Corinthians 1:30).  Thank You Christ Jesus for sacrificing Yourself on the cross and washing us clean from our sins with the blood You shed (Hebrews 9:14).   In Your name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 23 God spoke to Moses about the seasons and festivals.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You desired for the Israelites to celebrate with You.

Something to think about

God not only set aside the seventh day of each week as a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly, but He set aside national holidays too.  God desires us to celebrate with Him too.  He wants us to come together for rest and refreshment.  And He wants us to remember with thanksgiving all He has done for us.

Something to experience

If you’re not already, perhaps you will consider celebrating at least once a week and attend a worship service at a church or in your home.  Additionally perhaps daily you could consider giving God thanks for all He has done, is doing and will do for you in the future.

Prayer

Lord thank You for providing us places to worship.  Thank You for giving us time to worship.  Thank You for those who lead us in these services. Lord I pray we will show gratitude and offer to You pleasing and acceptable worship with reverence and awe (Hebrews 12:28).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
