Leviticus 18 God spoke to Moses about how the Israelites were to live.  Where the Israelites were going there were pagan religions and cultures.  God didn’t want the Israelites to behave as those they might be living near.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord even today some people try to make certain sinful behavior acceptable.

Something to think about

We need to read God’s Word and understanding what God calls sinful behavior.

Something to experience

We Christians must seek to live as God wants us to live.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will believe in Your Son, Christ Jesus, and conform to His example (Matthew 10:38). Lord I pray we will not conform to the superficial values and customs of this world. I pray we will be transformed and progressively changed by the renewing of our mind.  I pray we will focus on godly values and ethical attitudes so that we may prove for ourselves what Your good, acceptable and perfect will is.  I pray we will seek Your plan and Your purpose for our life (Romans 12:2).  Lord I pray we will not let anyone lead us astray.  I pray we will strive to live a consistently honorable life in both our private and public life.  I pray we will indeed conform to Your precepts (I John 3:7). Lord I pray we will behavior according to Your Word and Your standard and not the world’s (I Peter 1:14).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 19 God instructed Moses in various laws the Israelites were to obey.

Response

OH! WOW! Lord You only want the best for us.

Something to think about

These same laws can help us too.  Jesus even summarized all the laws in a New Testament passage.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will love You with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our mind. And I pray we will love our neighbor as ourselves. I pray we will unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others (Matthew 22:34-40).  In Your Son, Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 20 God instructed Moses on the punishments for sin.

Response

OH! WOW! Lord You want us to be Your children.

Something to think about

From my Bible’s notes: God gave many rules to His people – but not without reason.   He did not withhold good from them; He only prohibited those acts that would bring them to ruin. God forbids us to do certain things because He wants to keep us from self-destruction.

Prayer

Lord thank You for setting us apart from the evil of this world.  Thank You for allowing us to be Your children. I pray we will seek to live holy lives for You are holy and we should be too (Leviticus 20:26).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.
