In Leviticus 9:6 Moses explained to the priests what they were to do and what would be the results.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You tell us in Your Word what we’re to do and why we’re to do it.

Something to think about

According to verse 6 we’re to obey what God commands so that His glory may appear to us.

Something to experience

We can experience God’s Presence by serving Him in our daily routines. God is at work in our world.  He changes the world through the work we believers do.  Our acts of love and faith are supernatural acts.

Prayer

Lord help us to understand that every thought we have, every word we speak, and every deed we do can either draw others to You or push them away.  I pray we will be an instrument of good used by You.  I pray we will go forth as Your disciples into all the nations and encourage others to read and obey Your Word. Thank You for Your promise to be with us always (Matthew 28:19-20).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

In Leviticus 10:10-11 the Lord said to Aaron (one of the priests), “You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean, and you must teach the Israelites all the decrees the Lord has given them through Moses.”

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You spoke to Aaron and we can hear Your voice if we’ll just listen.

Something to think about

The purpose of God’s laws was to teach His people how to distinguish right from wrong, the holy from the common, the unclean from the clean. The nation who lived by God’s law would obviously be set apart, dedicated to His service.

Something to experience

This will be as close as I’ll come to being political on this website.  I believe America is a nation that God wants to be set apart and dedicated to serving Him.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will once again live as a united group of states. I pray our nation, America, will live as one nation under God.    I pray we will be indivisible as a nation.  I pray we will not continue to be divided or separated as we are right now.  I pray we will experience liberty and justice for all. In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 11 defines for the Israelites the animals that were okay to eat and those that were not okay to eat.

Response

Oh! Wow! Lord You were concerned about even what the Israelites ate.

Something to think about

From my Bible’s notes: God had reasons for forbidding certain animals from being eaten   (1) He was insuring the health of the nation of Israel (some animals ate dead animals who could have been diseased).     (2) He wanted to visibly distinguish Israel from other nations (such as not eating pigs because they were used as sacrifices in pagan religions).  (3) He wanted them to avoid objectionable associations (animals that moved about the ground were reminiscent of serpents, which often symbolized sin).

Something to experience

As God’s own chosen people we are holy (Colossians 3:12).

Prayer

Lord I ask You to set us apart and sanctify us for Your purpose.  I pray we will put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness that comes into our life.  I pray we will be holy in all we think, say and do (Colossians 3:12). I pray indeed we will be holy for You are holy.  I pray we will reverently fear and profoundly respect You throughout our life. (I Peter 1:15-17).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.
