Leviticus 5:17 (my Bible notes) The guilt offering was a way of taking care of sin committed unintentionally. Even though Christ’s death has made guilt offerings unnecessary for us today, we still need to make things right with those we hurt. That includes both God and man.

Prayer

Lord I pray when we are made aware of a problem with anyone, we’ll immediately go and make things right (Matthew 5:23-25).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.   AMEN.

Leviticus 6:1-7 (my Bible notes) Stealing involves more than just taking from someone.  Finding something and not returning it or refusing to return something borrowed are other forms of stealing.

Prayer

Lord I pray if we’ve gotten something deceitfully we will confess our sin to You and make restitution (Leviticus 6:1-5).  In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 7: 11-18 (my Bible notes) The fellowship offering was divided into three kinds according to purpose: thanksgiving offering was appropriate whenever one wished to show thanks to God; a vow offering was given in fulfillment of a vow (see II Samuel 15:7-8 as an example); and the freewill offering needed no special occasion or reason.

Prayer

Lord I pray we will consider these offerings and give them when we feel it is appropriate. In Christ Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN.

Leviticus 8 is about the instructions for the priests.

Leviticus 8:2-3 (my Bible notes) The priests stood in the gap between God and man.  They were the full-time spiritual leaders and overseers of offerings.  The priestly system was a concession to people’s inability, because of sin, to confront and relate to God individually and corporately.  In Christ, the imperfect system was transformed.  Christ Jesus Himself is now our High Priest.  Now all believers can approach God through Him.

Response

Oh! Wow! Thank You for giving us Christ Jesus as our High Priest.

Prayer

Lord thank You for giving us a perfect High Priest who understands our needs.  Thank You for sending us Christ Jesus who is holy, blameless, unstained by sin, separated from sinners and exalted higher than the heavens (Hebrews 7:26).   In His name I pray.  AMEN.
