Today I encourage you to read Exodus 16 through 18. Please look for and record any “Oh! Wow!” moments you discover even if I’ve not recorded them on this website. If you have time please share them with me.
Exodus 16:1-36 Here’s the Israelites once again complaining. And once again God came through this time with manna and quail for them to eat.
Response: “Oh! Wow!” Lord what’s with all the complaining? You provided for the Israelites all they needed.
Something to think about: Oops! I believe I might be pointing one finger at the Israelites as I point three fingers at myself. I need to remember when I’m complaining about something or somebody I’m really complaining about what God has brought into my life.
Prayer: Lord help each of us to see everything (Romans 2:7; James 1:17), every situation (I Thessalonians 5:18) and every person (Psalm 127:3) that comes into our life is from You or has been allowed by You. That nothing that happens to us is a surprise to You (Psalm 139:1-5). In Christ Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.
Exodus 17:8-16 Amalek fought the Israelites. God’s people won the battle.
Response: “Oh! Wow!” Lord You gave victory to the Israelites.
Something to think about: The Lord gives us victory over our enemies too.
Prayer: Lord when we’re in a struggle (a battle) it’s really not against flesh and blood. Our struggles, our battles are against the spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Lord I pray we will use the weapons You’ve given us. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. I pray we will destroy sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself against the true knowledge of You. I pray we will take every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Your Son Christ Jesus (II Corinthians 10:4-6). In His name I pray. AMEN.
